Willem Abma

Willem Abma received his M.Sc. in Pharmacy/Pharm.D. from the University of Groningen (the Netherlands) in 2015. During his studies, he focused on analytical chemistry and pharmacology. His master thesis project centered on the quantification of vitamin D2 and vitamin D3 and its metabolites in human milk using LC-MS/MS. He is currenly a joint PhD student with Professor Sven-Erik Dahlén in the Institute of Environmental Medicine (IMM). Willem's PhD thesis work will involve investigating the biochemical and pharmacological properties of lipid mediators in ex vivo models of asthma. Particular focus will be placed on examining the omega-3 fatty acid-derived specialized pro-resolving lipid mediators (SPMs).
