Elba Garreta

Elba Garreta obtained a degree in Chemistry in the University of Barcelona (2012) and further specialized in the field of Analytical Chemistry when taking a MSc, in the University of Rovira I Virgili (2013). In the frame of the ERC Chemageb project, she started her PhD in the Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research (IDAEA-CSIC), under the supervision of Prof. Romà Tauler together with Prof Sílvia Lacorte. Her research is focused on the metabolomics field, using different chromatographic platforms (GC-MS, GCxGC-TOFMS and LC-MS) and developing some chemometric tools for data analysis to study the effects of some environmental pollutants in the aquatic organism Daphnia magna. She is visiting the Wheelock laboratory to improve her knowledge in LC-MS/MS analysis and to perform a target analysis of lipid mediators in D. magna, specially for those related to arachidonic acid metabolism.
